I manage eDiscovery and digital forensic investigations for a large multinational corporation. Over twenty years, that has meant collections and legal holds, forensic imaging and analysis, review platforms, data mapping, and the long unglamorous work of making all of it defensible when someone eventually asks how you got there.
My background is a mix of engineering and management, which turns out to be the useful combination in this field. A Master's in Systems Engineering taught me to think about the whole pipeline instead of a single tool. An MBA and the PMP have been less about theory than about getting complicated, cross-functional matters to actually finish. The CEDS keeps me honest on the legal side of eDiscovery, where the technology is only half the problem.
I have stayed deliberately hands-on. I still write scripts, break things in test environments, and build the small automations that turn a three-day manual task into a repeatable one. Most of what I know came from solving specific, awkward, real-world problems rather than from a course.

What I write about here
Mostly five things: the technology and tooling of investigations; how AI is reshaping this work, where it genuinely helps and where it complicates questions of defensibility; what a long career in this field actually teaches you; how the business and strategy side of it works; and, now and then, something entirely personal that has no business case at all.
Everything here is written in a personal capacity. It reflects my own views, not those of my employer, and nothing on this site is legal advice.
